I'm a follower - my favourite ornament now is a big glass bauble I was given by a pupil. It has a beautiful design painted on it...from the INSIDE! It's amazing, I can't get my head around how it was painted inside out, details first and background last.

ReplyDeleteHi Everyone! Tiffany Here. My favorite holiday ornament is actually my tree topper. It was handed down to me by my parents who used it for many years. 20 or more! This is my first year owning it.
ReplyDeleteIt is a silver glittery obelisk made up of a frame of four tines, and inside is a blue star that spins and lights up. It is so aged and fragile, that two of the tines are broken off, and the 'foundation' that it sits on is wired together with Christmas hooks. Looking at it I can still imagine it in its original splendor.
Its not plugged in and spinning yet, I am waiting to finish decorating the rest of our (first) tree (as husband and wife) for the grand finale!

I am following your blog! I would have to say that my fav ornament is one that I have had since I was a little girl. It is a nativity scene and it has a charm on it that has the year and it has my families last name engraved on it. I can remember going to the store and helping my mom pick it out! I follow via GFC as Tracy Taylor my favorite ornament that I already own is a very old, very raggidy Santa Clause that I think is several generations old, he is made of wire and goes on the Christmas tree, way up high, at the back you can barely see him and now he is super frigile. I adore him and remember him being the first thing I put on as a little girl.

I'm following! My favorite ornament is the star that tops our tree. My daughter made it when she was three. It's encrusted with all different colored spangles, glitter, sequins, jewels and all of the joy that a 3 year old could add with her sticky glue filled fingers :) It makes me happy to see it up there every year.

ReplyDeleteMy favourite ornament is a hand-cut copper palm tree with the leaves painted green. It's funny how in the Southern Hemisphere we have so many 'winter' related decorations, even though it's scorching hot! The palm tree was gift and I love the idea of branching out into more local impressions of Christmas.

ReplyDeleteI love Christmas time! One of my favorite things about Christmas is bringing out all our sentimental ornaments. My parents purchased my sister and I an ornament for every year that we lived at home and dated it. Each year we return home to pull out our ornament and hang them upon our childhood tree. My favorite ornaments are my brass engraved rocking horse ornament, my baby's first Christmas ornament with me peeking over the crib to see Santa, OR one of the many maccroni bordered grade school photos that my mom has kept for all these years. (=
I can't wait for my own children to enjoy all these little things that I made when I was a child myself. I plan to continue the tradition with my own kids. I not sure I could ever choose just one to hold on to. I am blessed to have such a sentimental mother. What a sweet tradition.
